Ka-Band Single-Layer High-Efficiency Circular Aperture Microstrip Array Antenna

Based on microstrip antenna technology, a compact single-layer circular aperture array is proposed in this paper. The method suitable for designing large-scale and high-efficiency patch Ka band. By using the high-impedance characteristic of coupled line, novel multi-stage feeding network that can realize large power division ratio proposed, its structure center-symmetrical fed through coaxial probe at center. parallel branch divider connected to row array, elements obtain uniform excitation design each stage. A 256-element operating 35 GHz length width unit are 2.74 mm 3 mm, respectively, horizontal spacing between 0.742λ0, vertical varies from 0.677λ0 0.737λ0, radius 60 (7λ0 GHz). At end, prototype fabricated measured, measured results show maximum gain 29.5 dBi GHz, which correspond radiation efficiency 61.66% 46.07%, achieves high band, verifies correctness design. only needs design, achieve low manufacture cost, an excellent candidate millimeter-wave application.
